Tynemouth MP this morning officially opened the start of this year’s Super Ten’s at Rockcliffe Rugby Club.
The Rockcliff Super TEN’s is an annual ten a side rugby event geared to touring sides who want to let their hair down at the end of the season and combine some very social rugby with Tyneside’s legendary night life. The competition takes the structure of a knockout tournament with every team who lose in the first round of the cup automatically qualifying for the plate competition. This ensures every team plays at least 2 games and those with serious ambitions play more until they are knocked out or win.
Alan said ‘It’s always a pleasure to visit Rockcliffe. They have gone from strength to strength in the last 10 years, with major improvements to the changing rooms and clubhouse, and importantly the installation of an all weather pitch. It has certainly become a hub of the local community.”
